Getting Paul to do our downstairs replacement flooring, then our upstairs carpeting, was a very good decision. Blackpool Airport - Removal and Fitting of 1,000 square metres of carpet tiles
Blackpool airport underwent vast re-development works. Paul Ealey Flooring was tasked with laying over 1,000 sq. metres of Carpet in the departure lounge and terminal Building, around the demands of the busy airport which was still operational during the job.
The floor fitters managed to successfully deliver this flooring solution on time and budget.

Temple Cloud
Our client had turned the lower ground floor of a home in the village of Temple Cloud, north east Somerset, into a generously proportioned cinema/entertainment room. The brief was to combine a luxury look and feel with low maintenance and durability, so the obvious choice was Karndean high quality luxury vinyl tiles (LVT) in a wood effect.
The job
The client chose to cover the floor with blond oak parquet LVTs from the Karndean Art Select range, which we supplied and laid. These LVTs perfectly replicate the look of a real wooden floor but are much softer underfoot, and of course impervious to stains and scratch resistant – ideal for a busy family space. They have a 0.7mm wear layer and come with a 20-year commercial warranty so the floor should do duty for decades.
It was decided to lay the Karndean flooring on top of a plywood underlay to ensure the base was stable, uniform and smooth, as well as providing added insulation and to help with acoustics in what was to be a cinema room.
Our team are experienced at working with LVT – the parquet pattern may be tricky for novices to achieve but we were able to get the 228mm x 76mm individual planks glued down fairly quickly. To add a touch of style we decided to edge the floor with a border feature strip, as can be seen in the photographs.
The result
The client was absolutely delighted with the new flooring, which was an extremely cost-effective option compared to hardwood flooring or engineered wood flooring but simulates the look of “the real thing” very accurately. There are cheaper LVT brands available, but Karndean is undoubtedly one of the highest quality options available which is why it is so popular.
